Apple late 70s had the reputation as a progressive computer company in Silicon Valley. This company did some ambitious Xerox PARC employees to win and they advised Apple founder Steve Jobs once the pioneering work on computer-interface to view the PARC. Since the board of Xerox saw little in the computer mouse and graphical user environment, they saw no objection to give Apple a look inside the PARC Center. In exchange for shares in Apple, Jobs was in December 1979 and guided his team at Xerox PARC and various demonstrations. After gaining the necessary inspiration Steve Jobs quickly realized the potential of the GUI concepts developed by Xerox engineers. After that visit, he established teams within Apple, led by Jef Raskin a full-use, graphical, environment could develop. This resulted initially in the Apple Lisa, but came to maturity in 1984 with the introduction of the Macintosh. The graphical user interface in Apple computers, later given the name of Mac OS.
Apple does not own the original GUI concept, but was the first to successfully implement a computer user. It has many refinements and enhancements Apple made later by many other manufacturers would be taken. Thus the familiar Microsoft Windows operating system supposedly taken many ideas from Apple, which would later result in a lengthy lawsuit.
